2/14/2025, Friday - Valentine's Day Bike Ride in Naples

joraintree

We didn't have anything planned for this Valentine's Day, so we decided to go for a bike ride through the neighborhoods of beautiful Naples, Florida.

The yards are gorgeously manicured everywhere in Naples. Not surprising since the very rich live here.

There is tons of construction going on in Naples, from new big homes, to this row of about six big apartment (condo?) units, one after another.

It was a bright sunny day, and we found a nice shady pavilion for a rest at Lowdermilk Park.

Loads of people were out enjoying the beach there at the park.

We headed back to Baker Park, where we parked. After a quick charge, a short rest, and a little rain shower, we headed back out on our bikes to ride the Gordon River Greenway trails again.

We particularly like this Blair Foundation Bike Path (bikes only) that starts in Baker Park and connects with other trails to the north.

It has some pretty scenic overlooks and bridges on the Gordon River.

Eric sneaked a photo of me enjoying the scenery.

Later I caught an image of Eric in my rearview mirror - pretty cool, I thought.

While we were enjoying the trails, many others were enjoying the waters.

We found our way to this trail that goes about halfway around the Naples Airport, which is busy with private planes arriving and departing.

We saw several planes land, and a few take off. We were standing at the end of the runway where it warned of possible jet blasts, but we didn't feel anything from the one small jet we saw take off.

Here is the Relive video, showing our route and additional photos and videos, from our nearly 17-mile ride:

We ended the evening with a walk down to the Tin City Waterfront Shops, where we had a nice dinner at a restaurant called Pinchers. Thankfully, we didn't need reservations there for Valentine's Day, like we would have at any place in the heart of Naples.
