We are walkers, so several mile walks for us are quite common. It's a great way to get to know a new place, which we find exciting and fun.

Buffalo is a fun town for us to walk around in. Nearby is Richmond Avenue, which is lined with gorgeous, huge old homes.

ree
Many of the homes have stories, like this one. Apparently, two brothers could only inherit a fortune if they lived together, so they bought two houses next door to each other and "connected" them to be one residence.

ree
One of the many beautiful old churches in Buffalo.

ree
We have come across several old buildings that have been converted to private residences, which we think is cool. This one used to be the Pierce-Arrow car factory.

ree
This building apparently used to be the "Institute of Thermal Research", part of the American Radiator Company, and it's now private residences.

ree
This former synagogue is now also private residence(s?). Surely, it's not just a single family home, right?

ree
One walk took us past the Buffalo AKG Art Museum, where they have a LOVE sculpture matching the one in Indianapolis.

ree
That day we saw a bunch of runners all converging in front of this restaurant. There must have been an organized run or something.

ree
On a walk to the area known as Allentown, we encountered one of the "painted ladies" that Buffalo is known for.

ree
In Allentown we ate at a popular and delightful restaurant called Casa Azul. Cara was happy to have the "House Made Mole" that was actually vegetarian, and, while not the prettiest dish, it was delicious.
