7/27/2024, Saturday - Biked to Veg Fest & Italian Festival

This lovely Saturday we found two different festivals to check out in Buffalo! We think Buffalo goes all out with festivals and free concerts all summer because they are all so happy they survived another winter.

First we biked over to the east side for Veg Fest, which promised demonstrations, kids activities, vegan food, and more.

Cara had high hopes for this event, but it didn't have more than a dozen booths, and we saw no talks/demonstrations or kids activities.

Ah, well, at least we had several options for a vegetarian lunch.

Next we biked up to the Italian Festival going on along Hertel Ave. This one had tons of food trucks, freebies, and more.

There was an inflatable Leaning Tower of Pisa.

There was a puppet show for the little ones.

There were live music performances of Italian songs - very nice.

We also walked along Hertel Ave, which is a nice area to check out. Buffalo appears to love murals, and these are a few neat ones we found here.

After checking out the neighborhood we got dinner at the Italian Festival (including arancini and cannoli) and headed home.
