8/11/2024, Sunday - Biked to Asian Food & Culture Festival

On this beautiful Sunday afternoon we rode our bicycles downtown to the Asian Food & Culture Festival in the Canalside area of Buffalo. We checked out all the booths and made a yummy dinner of things from several different booths: spring rolls, chickpea salad (amazing), BBQ skewers, and Butter Chicken. There was a variety of live entertainment on the stage, although it definitely wasn't all Asian-related.

Canalside is a cool area of Buffalo, with a boardwalk, park space, museums and more.

After dinner we continued past the big old ships in Buffalo Naval Park.

This catamaran looks like a fun party boat!

Across the Buffalo River here you can see the Buffalo Main Light (lighthouse).

We enjoyed these beautiful gardens as we continued on down the peninsula.

At the end of the peninsula is this Erie Basin Marina Observation Deck and a little park.

Eric sat in the park watching the passing boats and the sunset while Cara climbed the tower.

Looking out toward Lake Erie.

Looking back at the city and the peninsula we came down.

Buffalo during the golden hour is stunning.

Cara liked the contrast of the lovely city and the weathered observation tower.

It was a nice sunset to end a nice day.
