8/26/2024, Monday - Hung out with Rob and Kathy in Binbrook, Ontario

Updated: Aug 29

We left Buffalo and headed to Canada. We used to do the Internet Marketing for a Canada fishing lodge for 17 years. Rob and Kathy owned the lodge and sold it about 3 years ago. They live about 1.5 hours from Buffalo so we decided to pay them a visit.

Here is a picture of Rob and Kathy. We got to know them very well by having them as a customer for 17 years. They really ran a great fishing lodge and we became good friends over the years.

We had some time to kill before we met up with Rob and Kathy, so we decided to check out some waterfalls. This is Albion Falls.

Buttermilk Falls was a disappointing dribbler coming from a culvert.
Rob grew up as a farmer and still enjoys farming. He helps out his neighbor who operates a very automated Dairy Farm. This robot goes down the line and feeds the cows. The cows seem to really like the robot :)

All of the cows looked really happy and the barn was super clean and smelled good. This is a state of the art Automated Dairy operation.

This is the automated milker. The cows were lined up to get in. That machine cleans the teets then attaches the little suckers. Then the cow gets milked while it eats. The machine knows all about the cow and how much milk is expected. The machine tests the milk for several things and can tell when the cow is going into heat or is pregnant. It also tests and charts a bunch of additional data.

This calf is less than 2 weeks old

The calf wanted to suck on Eric's finger

After we toured the Dairy Farm, Kathy took us to see her friend who has a bunch of kittens and clydsdale horses. These are the giant horses that you see on TV pulling the budweiser beer wagons.
