joraintreeSep 11 min read8/31-9/1/2024, Saturday-Sunday - Biked the Beaver River Trail in Cannington, OntarioWe chilled and talked with Jesse more on Saturday morning, and eventually we decided to go for a bike ride. Jesse showed us around Cannington. Then we picked up the Beaver River Wetland Trail. This bridge made for a beautiful break spot.Since it had rained heavily the night before the trail had loads of huge puddles, so I dubbed this the "puddle avoidance ride". (This photo doesn't do justice to the amount of puddles we encountered.)Jesse showed us some cool spots along the trail, including a "Blair Witch Project" style cabin, and this nice open shady spot.Former homeless encampment? Teenage party spot? Your guess is as good as ours. After our bike ride Jesse drove us to Beaverton on Simcoe Lake to enjoy the view and sunset. We had fun sitting on the wall at the end of the pier and talking about all kinds of stuff. I thought our shadows made for a cool picture here. After that we went back to Jesse's, where he cooked us a yummy dinner. I was happy to get plenty of snuggle time with Jesse's adorable and super pliable kitty, Tinkerbell. On Sunday Jesse wanted to get some work done on his basement renovation, so we decided to go for a longer bike ride on the Beaver River Trail. We hoped it had dried some.Mom came along for the ride, of course. It was her birthday, after all.We made it all the way to Blackwater where it intersects with another long rail-trail.It was a nice spot for a break. It was starting to get later in the day, so we headed back and cooked dinner for Jesse. Here is our Relive video of our Sunday ride:
