9/5/2024, Thursday - Biked Burlington, Ontario

We had stayed the previous 2 nights in Markham, Ontario. We decided to head west for about an hour to another northern suburb of Toronto. We got there at about noon and had a really nice day. Perfect weather and it was nice to see how people lived in Burlington.

We found a nice quiet street near a coffee shop and downtown. Most of the spots closer to downtown were restricted to 2 hours or they were parking meters

Burlington had a really nice waterway trail with lots of cool sights

This was a cool. Part observation deck and part art work.

It was a great place to hang out and relax for a while.....notice the lack of clouds? It was a beautiful day indeed.

Lots of places to hang out in Burlington

This was a restaurant right on the water

Burlington had quite a few high rise apartments on the waterfront. There are about 225,000 people living in Burlington. Just one of the many northern suburbs of Toronto

We kept going on the coastal bike trail which took us out of the city center

The trail was nice, but not all of it was paved

This is typical of how the trail was

We took a lot of breaks and had a leisurely day

We rode past a large public beach

Burlington had lots of little extra touches....like this bench...not just a bench, but a bit of public art too

This bridge comes up every hour. Nobody was waiting when we went

We started heading back to the city

You seldom see somebody walking 5 dogs at once...so we had to take a pic

We ended up at a Vietnamese restaurant. It was very good
