|In a special performance at Windschief Bar, our friend, Trevor, played with a good blues musician named Steev Inglish.
|After dropping off Dan and Steph at the airport in Dangriga, we had just enough time to return home and take a short nap
before the annual foosball tournament at Windschief Bar.
|Doubles played first, starting at 5 pm.
|Windschief had a camera positioned above the table, and the tournament was being projected live onto a screen in the bar so
everyone could watch it without having to cram into the small building housing the foosball table.
|Eric and his partner Trevor (on the right side of the table) came in third place.
|The singles tournament didn't end until about 2 am. It came down to Kyle (left) and Oli (right), and Oli won.
|Eric's brother, Dan, and his wife, Stephanie were able to stay another day and a half, so the first night we went on the evening
dinner cruise offered by Jungle Jeanie.
|We had to wait a little while for some other guests to arrive.
|It was a relaxing ride, and the trip included all the rum punch we could drink.
|Stephen (Steven?) captained the boat that night.
|We didn't see any crocodiles, but we enjoyed the moonlight over the water.
|Stephen and Kevin were very nice and took good care of us all on the trip.
|The next day we headed into town to do a beachside "walkabout" (a.k.a. bar crawl) through Hopkins. We had vehicles
stationed at either end of our intended walkabout route.
|We started at the north end of town at Hopkins Bay Resort, then walked south along the beach.
|Steph and Dan are awesome, and we love hanging out with them.
|We stopped in at Driftwood Beach Bar & Pizza Shack, a place we really like.
|Then we continued our journey.
|We stopped briefly to visit with our friends, Suzie and Dexter, and we enjoyed the view from their deck.
|One of the interesting sights on the beach.
|We stopped at Swinging Armadillos, which is the only place allowed that is built over the water.
|We had drinks and appetizers.
|We enjoyed the sea breeze and the views of the beach and frigate birds.
|Dexter joined us as we continued on our walkabout.
|Along the way Dexter cracked open a young coconut for us to drink the yummy coconut water.
|Suzie met up with us at Luba Laruga, where we had more drinks and appetizers.
|We ended the night with dinner and more drinks at Ella's Cool Spot in the village. We met up with several more friends
there, including Mark and Nick (photobombing at the right side of this picture).
|The next day we saw Dan and Steph off at the airport. Until next time!
|It was unusually windy and wavy on Christmas Eve, but the kids still had a great time playing in the water at Jungle Jeanie's.
|There were kayaks, boogie boards, surfboards and more for guests to enjoy, and the kids took full advantage.
|We didn't get a photo of the whole family, but we all enjoyed a nice meal at the Curve Bar at the Sittee River Marina.
|Christmas morning we first gathered at Jungle Jeanie's.
|We played games and had breakfast.
|We hung out at the beach.
|Then we gathered at Mark and Sabrina's and took family photos with the Santa hats Eric's mother had brought.
|The women in the family - we couldn't get the guys together to get a picture of them.
|Dorla and her family
|Victoriano and some of his family
|Birgit, Sabrina, Janet and Cara
|Sabrina and her family (Jack, Nick and Mark)
|Ingrid and Yuri
|Tina and James
|There was plenty of food, as usual.
|A sweet "stray" dog came up and didn't offer to leave. Sabrina's sons took care of her until the owner retrieved her.
|We had fun hanging out at the "Bamboo Bar".
|We enjoyed the light of the full moon over the water.
|Later that night Victor brought over a big male iguana he had snuck up
on while it was sleeping.
|Of course, Eric's brother Greg wanted a picture with it.
|The iguana was fairly calm until being handed back to Victor, then it
started thrashing about. Victor tried to put it in a tree, but it jumped
down and raced right at everyone standing at the bar. People parted
like the Red Sea, and the iguana raced through the crowd and took refuge
under some pool floats. We left him alone and he was gone by morning.
|The day after Christmas we all had a nice breakfast together at Thongs Cafe.
|Then Eric took most of his family to the airport to return home.
|We all had a great time! Hopefully that helped them through their flight troubles (again) once they got back to the States.
